The topics of the course focus on differences between German and Finnish speaking interaction. Numerical grading.

xLsab23/xLsab35 Well-being and looking after one another

In this course students learn how to formulate opinions and discuss in a variety of situations, covering various topics, such as well-being, relationships and different phases of life. Numerical grading.

xLsab24/xLsab36 Culture and media

The course deals with the cultures and the cultural phenomena of German speaking countries and media. Numerical grading.

xLsab25/xLsab37 Studies, work and the future

Students learn to talk about Finnish school and their own studies and how to compare them with the German school system. Topics include school, studies, working life and future plans. Numerical grading.

xLsab26/xLsab38 Our globe

The topics of the course are social participation in German speaking countries, nature, different living environments and sustainable lifestyle. Numerical grading.

xLsab27/xLsab39 Internationalism

The course broadens language skills and strengthens the cultural understanding of international co-operation focusing on basic terms in science, economics and technology. Numerical grading.

xLsab28/xLsab310 Oral communication

The course strengthens students’ oral skills in different communication situations. We revise topics of the previous courses. Numerical grading.


School-based specialisation course

The course prepares students for the matriculation examination as students get to practise different exercise types and answering techniques. Vocabulary and grammar revised as needed. Grading: Completed.
