xLge1 World in change 

In the course students get to know natural phenomena, human action and risks within interaction between human and nature. Students compare and evaluate, from the point of view of natural resources and the stage of development, how risk-prone different areas are and how strong the impacts may be. Alongside with risks, students get to analyse positive development and factors involved in different areas of the world. Numerical grading.

 

Nationwide specialisation courses


xLge2 The Blue Planet 

The course focuses on natural geographic phenomena and their meaning in societal activities and in people’s everyday life. Topics include changing landforms and movements of atmosphere and hydrosphere. Numerical grading.

xLge3 Our world 

The course deals with regional traits of human action, including regional differences in population growth development, communication between different regions and questions affecting land use in cities. Numerical grading.

xLge4 Geomedia - explore, participate and influence 

During the course, students develop skills to acquire, analyse, interpret, evaluate and present geographical facts. Students create a research paper or conduct a project on a local, regional or global level independently or in cooperation with others. It is recommended to first complete courses 1-3 before taking this course. Numerical grading.

xLge5 Revision course in geography

In this course, students revise essential topics of the geography courses and get prepared for the matriculation examination. Numerical grading.

xLge6 Development geography

In this course, students observe differences in development and reasons for these differences on a global and local scale. With the help of examples, students learn about developing countries, e.g. the poorest countries in the world and their issues and consider possible solutions. Additionally, students learn about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as well as different forms of development cooperation. Grading: Completed.
