Upper secondary streams

The General Stream offers the students a chance to complete their upper secondary studies in an international environment. The compulsory courses are studied in Finnish, the applied courses are bilingual (Finnish and English) and the courses preparing the students for the matriculation examination are offered in Finnish. In addition to providing the students with academic skills, the school aims at producing fluency in English. The school accepts 30 students to this line. In 2017 the lowest academic grade point average for accepted students was 9,5.

The Society and Economics Stream emphasises subjects related to civics and economics. The stream offers applied courses such as international politics, social sciences, economics and trade. The courses are offered mainly in Finnish, but additional material / teaching is also given in English. The school accepts 30 students to this line. In 2017 the admission required the minimum of 12,12/15 (the lowest academic grade point average 8,42).

 The Science and Technology Stream deepens the students’ understanding and knowledge of natural sciences. The stream offers applied courses in natural sciences, technology, mathematics, and their applications in real life. The courses are offered mainly in Finnish, but additional material / teaching is also given in English. The school accepts 30 students to this line. In 2017 the admission required minimum of 12,34/15 points (lowest academic grade point average 8,92).

The English Stream offers courses both in English and Finnish. The students are expected to have a good command of English as the teaching and study material of both compulsory and applied courses are either partly or solely in English. The preparation courses are studied in Finnish as all students aim for the Finnish matriculation examination diploma. It is desirable that students have at least the basics of Finnish when beginning their studies. The school accepts 60 students to this line. In 2017 the admission required minimum of 13,67/15 points (lowest academic grade point average 8,42).
